The 16-ply Gretsch Mahogany/Maple Snare Drum collection gives you the best of both worldsā¦the sound and feel of Mahogany, and the sound and feel of Maple. The assortment will cover any sound and musical preference you have.
The 8 plies of maple and sharp 30 degree bearing edge really shine on the 6x13ā and 5x14ā, both have a very cutting and powerful back beat with just the right amount dark undertone, thanks to the mahogany.
The 6.5ā and 8x14ā carry a bit less attack but they release a ton of darker low-end with a fatter back beat, thanks to the 8 plies of mahogany and soft 30 degree bearing edge.
Each size is finished in a beautiful gloss lacquer and are completed with:
- 16-Ply Maple/Mahogany Shell
- 30 Degree Soft Bearing Edges
- Tilco Snare Wires
- 2.5mm Triple Flange Hoops
- Newly designed Full Range Throw off & Butt Plate
